Vegetarian foods are naturally low in fat and cholesterol but high in nutrients, so you will never be weighed down when you need to be on the go. And because vegetarian diets work well for long-term weight loss, it’s no surprise that vegetarians are generally leaner and trimmer than meat-eaters. Going vegetarian also reduces your risk for heart disease, diabetes, obesity and cancer.

”Even seemingly small choices can have a big impact on our health, our community and the world around us”, says Lara. “Going vegetarian is one of the easiest ways to improve our health, help countless animals and protect the Earth.”

By adopting a vegetarian diet, you will also be helping countless animals. Factory-farmed animals are deprived of everything that is natural and important to them. They are packed into filthy, cramped sheds or cages and are often fed an unnatural diet that includes antibiotics and drugs. On factory farms, diseases often run rampant, and animals lack proper veterinary care, leaving them to suffer amidst their own waste. All animals who are killed for food – even those who are not raised on factory farms – suffer when they are transported to slaughter. They are beaten, kicked, prodded, crammed onto severely crowded Lorries and mishandled in other ways. These animals’ short lives come to a painful end at the slaughterhouse, where cows, goats and chickens typically have their throats cut and are often dismembered while they are still conscious. Billions of these living, breathing, thinking, feeling beings – whose senses are so similar to ours – suffer and die just so that we can eat meat.

”Let vegetarianism grow on you”? Why not take the Pledge to Be Veg?

We all love animals, few realize it, few are still yet to and I just did. I always had great love and kindness for animals but its all there in the heart. Never really did anything great to list it down in this blog. I am sure will do it in my future blogs.

Let’s say my first step will be to support animal free circuses. Animals are not ours for entertainment. The animals in the circus are being treated as a tool to get money. Have you ever been to the circus, have you ever wondered whether animals “naturally” ride bicycles?  It only happens by force and starvation. To force them to perform these confusing and physically uncomfortable tricks, trainers use whips, tight collars, muzzles, electric prods, bull hooks, and other painful tools of the trade. They live and travel their entire life in caged squalor.

There are hundred better ways to make money and hundred other ways to entertain yourself. Let’s not encourage them to abuse animals anymore. Avoid circuses, the basic help which anyone can do.

May we one day realize that all animals matter and may no animal ever die unloved again.

I have raise voice against “Animal Circus Cruelty” will you?

Say Hello! Leave a comment! Don’t be shy…!

On 17th September the animal right group People for Ethical treatment of Animals (PETA) has filed a case against the Punjab directorate of animal husbandry for conducting illegal testing’s and experiments on animals which violates law on prevention of cruelty to animals. PETA also got a document stating violation of prevention of cruelty to animal act 1960 under the right to information act as it was not registered as an institute for conducting test and experiments.

PETA also received information that a rabbit is being killed by hitting hammer on the head by the operators under directorate at Punjab veterinary vaccine institute. On Thursday PETA’s senior campaign coordinator Dharmesh Solanki issued an urgent letter to the committee to stop such an illegal act and urging it to take some necessary action against directorate. In the letter to CPCSEA, PETA also mentioned that the directorate is not registered as an institute to where experiments are conducted on animals- a government body which comes under the ministry for environment and forests.

PETA is shocked to know that even government institute are involved in a breach of law. So in the letter, PETA asked CPCSEA to notify all labs in India via newspaper ads, email etc that they should strictly adhere to all rules and regulation regarding experiments on animals and if not then immediate action would be taken against those institute which violates the law.

During an interview when the president of America Mr. Obama killed the fly with CNBC yesterday, the animal right group PETA said they wish Obama had served a better example.

Bruce friedrich, VP for policy at PETA said that we even support for the life of small insects. He says that brushing the flies away is better than killing them. So they sent a katcha bug, a device which traps bugs and allows their safe release back in to nature to the white house.

PETA hopes the President will use the catcher but has no far not received communication back from the White House, although they did not ask for specific correspondence.

Friedrich admits that despite his fly-swatting ways, the President has been a champion for animal rights in the past. PETA claims to be pleased by Obama’s denouncement of factory farming, Canadian seal hunting andMichelle Obama’s stance against wearing fur.

People for ethical treatment of animals (PETA) activists protested against Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) in New Delhi for cruelty towards chicken and birds.

They showed a live demonstration of cruelty towards them. The protestors dressed themselves as Chickens and carried posters which read “boycott KFC”. PETA wants KFC to adopt animal friendly policy.

The PETA India activist Arkudh Prabhu said that “people want only the breast of the chicken that’s why they inject different kinds of hormones to make the breast heavy. But for this purpose there thin legs are crippled and broken and are ill-treated.”

PETA India has been defending animal rights since 2000 and whenever they tried to tell KFC to adopt animal friendly policy, they simply ignore it. Well hope that this demonstration act as in added advantage to make KFC understand better.

The rescue operation by PETA has recovered 11 injured dogs and 22day-old puppies that were kept at the SPCA, Pune in unhygienic conditions. This operation was held against the Pune chapter of society for the prevention of cruelty to animals (SPCA).

The chief functionary of PETA Mrs. Anuradha Sawhney says that “the stray dogs that brought to this place fro across the city are kept in very unhygienic conditions. An even basic need such as healthy food and clean drinking water was not served properly, in short the dogs and puppies are not given proper care that they required.”

N G Jayasimha of PETA claimed that This SPCA was established on January 23, 1923 to raise awareness of the abuse of animals. SPCA has been providing facilities such as OPD, surgery, treatment and shelter to animals from across the city. The primary motive of the SPCA was to treat and provide shelter to the stray dogs. But the fact discovered by PETA is that SPCA is now busy in treating private pets rather than abiding their basic duty for the simple reason that treatment of such dogs gives them more money.

these famous bollywood star work actively to promote awareness and prevention of cruelty towards animals. these star has become an inspiration for other people who tend to treat animals cruelly. though having very hi-profile career they work actively for the welfare of the animals. i really appreciate gesture nad support towards animal cruelty.

PETA is everywhere and we at PETA know how to appreciate people for their ethical efforts. Vodofone recently launched a series of commericals or you can say one commercial per day on every Indian Premier League Match with ET like character which was introduced to this world by Sathyajit Rey. Zoozoos as it’s called it has some set of funny dressed characters which act out different features given by vodafone. Before these ads Vodafone company were using ‘pug’ commercial which we opposed. When pug commercial was introduced lots of people ended up purchasing pugs and lots of puppies were breed which later after these people lost interest ended up in shelters or were thrown away to wander is streets.

Now zoozoos campaign is a hit and PETA’s india chief Anuradha sawhney says its good to see creative ways without usage of animals can reach people. Animals used in films are often treated as little more than props, and many suffer terribly behind the scenes.

Vodafone has been rewarded 2009 Glitterbox award for taking advantage of humage alternatives and making it a success. We whole heartedly appreciate vodafone for its efforts.

On Thursday in Burlington, a naked woman with body painted as snake skin with the hopes that local shoppers will help the snake remain in the jungle.

The local People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals chapter describes as a “Naked PETA Beauty” and she will show her naked body at the corner of church and main streets Thursday starting at noon in hopes of raising awareness for PETA causes. Hunt said that “she will be glad to bare some of her skin if that save the animals skin.”

Hunt also wants people not to buy exotic animal skin boots and clothes. She also said that said shoppers should know that exotic animals are skinned alive, beaten to death, or killed for their skins in other cruel ways.

PETA promotes Hunt’s effort by announcing that most of the leather sold in United States comes from cows. The other species like snakes, alligators and kangaroos are are hunted and killed particularly for their skin.
