A number of national celebrities joined PETA to ban on bullock pulled oil carts on the street of Mumbai. The famous Bollywood star that came forward is Akshaye Khanna, Rahul Khanna, Raveena Tandon, Eesha Koppikar, Arjun Rampal, Rahul Dev, Avanti Birla, Sandiip Sikcand and others.

Following are some abuses which PETA investigated:

  1. Bullocks are made to stand for hours without proper shelter. They are not given proper food and water.
  2. Injured bullocks do not receive any proper veterinary care and still they are forced to pulled heavy kerosene tankers.
  3. All the bullocks are kept in very unhygienic conditions.

After seeing such a terrible treatment towards bullocks, it purely indicates that human being is selfish. They just use the animal till they are in position to serve them and later on they throws them to some corner of the street.

Formal request of PETA has made the oil companies to issue a letter to the Controller of Rationing through the Maharashtra State Level Coordinator Shri RK Panda of Bharat Petroleum Corporation, Ltd, to discontinue the use of bullock pulled oil carts.

A signed petition by all bollywood star to protest:

I feel proud to be the PETA activist and talk about PETA’s unbelievable efforts to rescue animals. PETA is doing a great job over the world. Animal rights are also equally important compare to human rights. Even animals has all its rights to live their life in a way they want. PETA with help of bollywood stars who are also against animal cruelty are amazingly helping PETA in their rescue efforts. I would like to thank PETA and their team for undertaking such an wonderful task. I wish PETA flourish more with each single passing day.

For centuries, India’s snake charmers have enjoyed a celebrated place in the country’s history. The hypnotic tunes they played to enchant snakes to dance have not only captured the imagination of Indians, but people all around. But now the industry is fighting for its survival amid stringent wildlife protection laws.

The government has banned the snake charmers to perform a show. They simply mislead the people around the world. They make the people believe that with the help of tune they play they make the snake dance but the fact is that snake has no hearing capability. They cannot listen to any sound as that sense is not present in them. They just move their head by seeing that instrument moving and feeling the vibration of it. The vibration sensitivity is very strong in them. They can detect the animal approaching to them through the faint vibration in the air and on the ground.

Snake yield nearly 12 grams of venom at single strike. On an average, snake yield venom of worth rupees 20 million in a lifespan of eight years. The snake charmers extract the venom and sell the same to private firm for which they are paid well. But in turn companies sell it the same to the pharmaceutical companies at much higher rate.

Snake charmers having lived with reptiles since childhood know only handling snakes and holding public show. So the strong measures adopted by police for last decade or so have put them in a difficult situation.

Snake charmers with their generation of knowledge of snakes should be employed in remote health centers where doctors are not available to treat a bite. Government should take this in to consideration after the ban in order to earn in better way rather than abusing the snake and misleading the people around the world.

Animal rights group is accusing fort drum and 16 many other military institutes to stop abusing animals during training exercise. PETA says fort drum is making use of goat for their trauma training exercise.

According to PETA, The animal right group has written letters to commanders of each installation. But at fort drum the letter was addressed to Garrison Commander Col. Ken Riddle. In the letter Kathy Guillermo, PETA investigation department mentioned that “the military is not only breaking animals’ bones, its also apparently breaking its own regulation.”

PETA says that why the military regulations forbid the use of animal in training when other non-animal methods are available. It was also investigated that goats are used in training about twice a year and I every case goats are anesthetized.

In some military installations pigs are used in training exercise. In fact PETA is requesting the president of U.S barrack Obama to issue an order to all military regulation to switch on completely to non-animals methods for military trauma and chemical training exercise.

this is so terrible to see the human being so rude to animal. I was completely stunt to see this video. its so horrible. I have no words to talk anything about such an heartless cruelty towards animals. Human being performing such acts should be punished severely.  the government should take all the necessary step to stop this nonsense thing being done. Imagine, if human being was treated in same way. People all over the world should feel some courtesy towards animal as even they are part of this beautiful nature and world. No one on this world has any rights to kill any one. i hope after seeing this video atleast you will realize how terrible it is and try to avoid cruelty where ever you see.

Many people who witness or hear about animal cruelty are not aware of the legal action to be taken towards them. The legal action towards animal cruelty differs from state to state and country to country.

Generally animal cruelty can be divided in to two categories i.e. neglect and intentional cruelty. Neglect cruelty is when a person fails to fulfill the basic requirements of the animal. They will simple hand over the animal to authorities because they no longer want to take the responsibilities.

Intentional cruelty is very shocking. Intentional cruelty is one when the individual personally harm the animal using physical abusing methods in order fill in their own pocket.

Here are some of the facts of intentional cruelty to animal:

  1. In many circuses, animals are trained using physical abuse. Animals in circus are found beaten, whipped, and poked with many kinds of sharp objects. They even make use of fire to make them learn their routine.
  2. Elephants in circuses are chained all the time except when they come to stage to perform. They are kept in a very terrible situation from the time they are babies.
  3. Scientists estimate that more than 100 species go extinct every day.
  4. Dog fighting, cock fighting and bull fighting is banned in all 50 states but still they perform such an illegal task.
  5. Around 10 thousands wild and domestic horses are slaughtered every year for horse meat in Europe and Asia.
  6. Research have found link between cruelty to animals and other form of interpersonal violence.
  7. More than 10-15 million warm-blooded animals are used for the purpose of research every year.
  8. From past few years most of the animals are neglected and animals neglect cases involves cows and pigs.
