Animal rights group is accusing fort drum and 16 many other military institutes to stop abusing animals during training exercise. PETA says fort drum is making use of goat for their trauma training exercise.

According to PETA, The animal right group has written letters to commanders of each installation. But at fort drum the letter was addressed to Garrison Commander Col. Ken Riddle. In the letter Kathy Guillermo, PETA investigation department mentioned that “the military is not only breaking animals’ bones, its also apparently breaking its own regulation.”

PETA says that why the military regulations forbid the use of animal in training when other non-animal methods are available. It was also investigated that goats are used in training about twice a year and I every case goats are anesthetized.

In some military installations pigs are used in training exercise. In fact PETA is requesting the president of U.S barrack Obama to issue an order to all military regulation to switch on completely to non-animals methods for military trauma and chemical training exercise.

First let us know what is euthanasia? Euthanasia is the process of painlessly helping a terminally ill person to die. In the other word it is known as mercy killing. This task is performed by lethal injection. So do you think that euthanizing your pet is the right decision?

Euthanizing a pet is one of the most difficult things we will ever do. Euthanizing their pet is the only option left for the owner who don’t want their ill pet to suffer or who find veterinary costs for continued treatment of their pet to be prohibitive. The emotions at this moment make you think hard to take such decision. Therefore this is actually a right decision if taken because it is better to kill the pet rather than making them suffers a lot with a pain. Mercy killing a pet is also not illegal according to the court of law.

People for Ethical Treatment of Animal (PETA) undertake the task of mercy killing the animals. As PETA believes euthanasia is the kindest gif to a dog or cat unwanted and unloved. Try to put yourself in place of those at PETA who care deeply for animals but still they have to hold the animals in the arms and take their lives because there is now where for them to go.

Therefore, citizens who are up in arms about the need for euthanasia should join us in being up in arms about stopping the flow of unwanted animals.

I personally feel that animals have contributed immensely for the well being of the human beings. So, it is the obligation of the mankind to treat our animals in humane manner and protect them from cruelties. We should create awareness regarding humane treatment of animals and to sensitize the people for their valuable contribution to the well being of mankind.

Mahatma Gandhi says that social development of Nation is judged by the way its people treat their animals. Therefore it is the fundamental duty of each and every single individual to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, river and wild life and to have compassion for all living creature.

Awareness against the unnecessary pain or suffering to animals can be created by ways of lectures, books, posters, cinematographic exhibition, etc. animal welfare rights should organize some national rally for the protection of animal from being treated cruelly.

For example-: Animals at cattle farm and chicken industry are badly treated with no proper shelter to them. They are even not provided with healthy food. The crowded and filthy condition at farm has even created a threat to human health. It is the duty of human being to take necessary steps against these cattle farm and chicken industry in order to provide healthy environment to those animals.

People for Ethical Treatment of Animal (PETA) is a wonderful animal welfare organization, which is taking all necessary steps towards protection of animals from unnecessary pain and suffering. PETA, this the very active organization that I have found is actually working for the welfare of animal all over the world. But I request all the people all over world to take all possible steps towards the welfare of animal which will also result in social development of your country.

What we desperately need at this time of financial crisis is certainty. Certainty is that this Christmas we have support to prevent the unnecessary suffering of donkeys, mules, horses and other working animals. Some of the horrifying thing is face the prospect of the firing Squad.

Firing squad doesn’t really mean that they will be lined up and shot. They will be fired with a red hot iron in the mistaken belief that it will cure the wound. The picture below shows Humar only one animal that have suffered this, a very ineffective treatment to cure the wound.

Humar use to carry heavy loads for his owner for many years. But now they are suffering so terribly. There are many medicines which can actually reduce the pain and inflammation of the donkey. The only thing they need is some rest to recover.

Like many other people in Morocco, Humar’s owner had little to afford so he turned to a traditional cure. This traditional treatment involves continuous laying of hot iron on to Humar’s shoulder. His suffering didn’t stop there and the cure failed then he later poured the hot boiled engine oil all over Humar. He was in a very dreadful state. They were in need of some immediate relief from this dreadful pain. Much of the skin was dead. But hopefully Humar is unrecognizable today at the distressed donkey pictured.

This Christmas, more than ever we really need your support. Because we don’t want to treat the animal, which has suffered needlessly the Humar did. We want to prevent them in better way. The only way we can prevent this harmful traditional practice is to replace this with the better knowledge that can be passed on from one animal owner to other.

Children who visit our refugees are often responsible for caring for a poor family’s donkey. Through our education programme this children learn to be vigilant to changes in feeding, drinking habits or any other sign of distress. A child who cares for animal well today is the owner of the future.

This is very bad to hear that war between human being is actually targeting the innocent animal for death. In the conflict between Sri-Lanka and LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Ellam) most of the cattle farm in LTTE held area are  being bombed by Sri-Lanka Air force. They also bombed a convent named the holy cross convent located on paranthan mullaiththevu road, 600 meters away from paranthan junction Tuesday night around 10.30 p.m. a day before Christmas.

These innocent cows were no were involved in this useless conflict but I don’t understand how can man be so heartless targeting these innocent cows to win the conflicts. This is the one of the shameful act actually done by them. They cannot prove their bravery by killing these cows and doing such a terrible task. If they really want to prove their bravery and strength then ask them to give an open challenge to LTTE and fight with them openly. The government should have actually restricted or taken some steps towards it because by doing such a terrific thing they are actually destroying and disturbing balance in nature.

TamilNet correspondent who visited the site Wednesday morning witnessed that the attacked premises was marked with Red Cross on the roof. The nearby church also sustained to be damage. The Sri-Lanka Air Force deployed cluster munitions in the bombardment. Around 85 cows were killed in this attack. This indiscriminate bombardment has also targeted shops and other commercial establishment in paranthan and kumarapuram.

now, lets have a look at the site were bombardment took place,

Angry monkeys take revenge

Angry monkeys take revenge

The man in the china was abusing three monkeys to perform some tricks. This again provided an opportunity to look at how we treat animals.

The monkeys were forced to ride mini-bicycles and while doing that they were hit with a stick. Having tolerating enough of this cruelty, monkeys decided to take matters in to their own hands. Among the three of these monkeys one twisted his ears and pulled out his hair and bit his back. Then when trainer dropped the cane, the third monkey picked it up and started hitting him around the head with it until the stick broke.

In the earlier of this week, two people were injured by stones thrown to them by chimpanzee at Kolkata Zoo in India because the visitors were teasing those chimpanzees and throwing things at them.

The animals in china are treated badly for sometime. It is now hoped that police will investigate claim of animal cruelty and confiscate the monkey. In china, their have been plenty of media stores about animal being abused to make them perform. But it does not only happen in china, in countries like UK also animals are treated to make to perform in circuses. Though we don’t have bike-riding monkeys in UK circus but there are lions and tigers to perform, dogs riding on backs of horses, an elderly arthritic elephants and other animals. Despite the UK being heralded as a “nation of animal lovers”, this cruelty still continues around us.

Therefore, it is not all surprising to know when animal decide to hit back against the cruelty inflicted on them by humans. In fact, it is the bigger surprise that it doesn’t happen more often. We need to recognize that animals are not here for our amusement, to be made to perform in the markets of china or the big tops of UK circuses or caged at Zoos for us to intent look. All animals, human and non-humans share many things in common, emotion being one. In the book, the Emotional Lives of Animals says “lacking a shared language, emotions are perhaps our most effective means of cross-species communication.”

A PETA member and Publix stockholder has submitted a shareholder resolution calling on the Lakeland-based grocery giant to report any progress it has made toward adopting animal welfare policies that pertain to the purchase of eggs and pig, chicken, and turkey meat. Publix operates 950 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee and also owns Pix convenience stores in Florida.

Currently, the limbs of chickens and turkeys purchased by Publix are often broken, and the birds are conscious when their throats are cut during slaughter. The company buys most of its eggs from suppliers that cram hens into cages so tightly that the birds can’t even stretch a wing, and it buys pig meat from companies that immobilize pregnant sows in tiny “gestation crates” for months at a time.

Unlike Publix, many grocery chains–including Safeway, Winn-Dixie, and Harris Teeter–have already taken action to curb these abuses. These and other companies have enacted policies to increase the amount of cage-free eggs and crate-free pig meat that they purchase, as well as to begin to buy more chicken and turkey meat from suppliers that use a less cruel method of slaughter.

“Publix is way behind other major food retailers in addressing the suffering of animals on factory farms,” says PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk. “Consumers care about animal welfare, and if Publix doesn’t keep up with its rivals, shareholders could pay the price in diminishing returns.”
